Psalms Of Praises
Psalm 8
To the choirmaster:
according to The Gittith.
A Psalm of David
1. O
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is thy name in all the earth!
Thou
whose glory above the heavens is chanted
2. by the mouth of babes and infants,
thou has founded a bulwark because of thy
foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
3. When
I look at thy heavens, the work of thy fingers,
the moon and the stars which thou hast
established;
4. what
is man that thou art mindful of him,
and the son of man that thou cares for him?
5. Yet,
thou hast made him a perfect God,
and does crown him with glory and honour,
because the Saints are the sons of the living
God.
6. Thou
has given him dominion over the
works of thy hands;
thou has put all things under his feet,
7. all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8. the birds of the air, and the fish of the
sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the sea.
9. O
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is thy name
in all the earth!
Psalm 29
A
Psalm of David.
1. Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2. Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His name;
worship the Lord in holy array.
3. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord, upon many waters.
4. The voice of the Lord is powerful,
the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
5.
The voice of the
Lord breaks the cedars,
the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon.
6.
He makes Lebanon to
skip like a calf,
and Si'rion like a
young wild ox.
7.
The voice of the
Lord flashes forth flames of
fire.
8.
The voice of the
Lord shakes the wilderness
the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
9.
The voice of the
Lord makes the oaks to whirl,
and strips the forests bare;
and in His temple, all cry,
"Glory!"
10.
The Lord sits
enthroned over the flood;
the Lord sits enthroned as king forever .
11.
Let the Lord give
strength to His people!
Let the
Lord bless His people with peace!
Psalm 33
1.
Rejoice in the
Lord, O you righteous!
Praise
befits the upright.
2.
Praise the Lord
with the lyre,
make melody to him with the harp of ten
strings!
3.
Sing to him a new
song,
play skillfully on the strings, with loud
shouts.
4.
For the word of the
Lord is upright;
and all his work is done in faithfulness.
5.
He loves
righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the
Lord.
6.
By the word of
the Lord the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
7.
He gathered the
waters of the sea as in a bottle;
he put the deeps in storehouses.
8.
Let all the earth
love the Lord,
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in
praise of Him!
9.
For He spoke, and
it came to be;
He
commanded, and it stood forth.
10.
The Lord brings
the counsel of the nations to naught;
He
frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11.
The counsel of
the Lord stands forever,
the thoughts of His heart to all generations.
12.
Blessed is the
nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom He has chosen as His heritage!
13.
The Lord looks
down from heaven,
He sees all
the sons of men;
14.
from where He sits enthroned He looks forth
on all the inhabitants of the earth,
15.
He who fashions
the hearts of them all,
and observes all their deeds.
16.
A king is not
saved by his great army;
a warrior is not delivered by his great
strength.
17.
The war horse is
a vain hope for victory,
and by its great might it cannot save.
18.
Behold, the eye
of the Lord
is on those who fear Him,
on those who hope in His steadfast love,
19.
that He will deliver their soul from death,
and keep them alive in famine.
20.
Our soul waits
for the Lord;
He is our
help and shield.
21.
Yea, our heart is
glad in Him,
because we trust in His holy name.
22.
Let thy steadfast
love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in thee.
Psalm 47
A
Psalm of the Sons of Korah.
To
the choirmaster.
1.
Clap your hands,
all peoples!
Shout to God
with loud songs of joy!
2.
For the Lord, the
Most High, is wonderful,
a great king over all the earth.
3.
He subdued
peoples under us,
and nations under our feet.
4.
He chose our
heritage for us,
the pride of Jacob whom He loves.
5.
God has gone up
with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
6.
Sing praises to
God, sing praises!
Sing
praises to our King, sing praises!
7.
For God is the
king of all the earth;
sing praises with a Psalm!
8.
God reigns over
the nations;
God sits on
His holy throne.
9.
The princes of
the peoples gather
as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the
shields of the earth belong to God;
He is
highly exalted!
Psalm 48
A
Psalm of the Sons of Korah.
A
Song.
1.
Great is the Lord
and greatly to be praised
in the city of our God! His holy mountain,
2.
His holy
mountain, beautiful in elevation,
is the joy of all the earth,
Mount Zion, in
the far north,
the city of the great King.
3.
Within her
citadels God has shown himself
a sure defense.
4.
For lo, the kings
assembled,
they came on together.
5.
As soon as they
saw it,
they were astounded,
they were in panic,
they
took to flight;
6.
trembling took hold of them there,
anguish as of a woman in travail.
7.
By the east wind
thou didst shatter
the ships of Tarshish.
8.
As we have heard,
so have we seen
in the city of the Lord of the Hosts,
in the city of our God,
which God establishes forever .
9.
We have thought
on thy steadfast love, God,
in the midst of thy temple.
10.
As thy name, O
God,
so thy praise reaches to the ends of the
earth.
Thy right hand
is filled with victory;
11.
Let Mount Zion be
glad!
Let the
daughters of Judah rejoice
because of thy judgments!
12.
Walk about Zion,
go round about her,
number her towers,
consider well her ramparts,
go through her
citadels;
that you may tell the next generation
13.
that this is God,
our God forever and ever.
He will be our
guide forever.
Psalm 66
To
the choirmaster. A Song. A Psalm.
1
Make a joyful noise to God,
all the earth;
2
sing the glory of His name;
give to Him glorious praise!
3
Say to God, "How terrible are thy deeds!
So great is thy power that thy enemies
cringe before thee.
4
All the earth worships thee;
they sing praises to thee,
sing praises to thy name."
5
Come and see what God has done:
He is awesome in his deeds among men.
6
He turned the sea into dry land;
men passed through the river on foot.
There did we rejoice in Him,
7
who rules by His might forever,
whose eyes keep watch on the nations
let not the rebellious exalt themselves.
8
Bless our God, O peoples,
let the sound of His praise be heard,
9
who has kept us among the living,
and has not let our feet slip.
10
For thou, O God, hast tested us;
thou hast tried us as silver is tried.
11
Thou didst bring us into the net;
thou didst lay affliction on our loins;
12
thou didst let men ride over our heads;
we went through fire and through water;
yet thou hast brought us forth to a
spacious
place.
13
I will come into thy house with burnt offerings;
I will pay thee my vows,
14 that which my lips uttered
and my mouth promised when I was in
trouble.
15
I will offer to thee burnt offerings of fatlings,
with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams;
I will make an offering of bulls and
goats.
16
Come and hear, all you who love God,
and I will tell what He has done for me.
17
I cried aloud to Him,
and He was extolled with my tongue.
18
If I had cherished iniquity in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened.
19
But truly God has listened;
He has given heed to the voice of my
prayer.
20
Blessed be God,
because He has not rejected my prayer
or removed His steadfast love from me!
Psalm 68
To
the choirmaster.
A
Psalm of David.
A
Song.
1
Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered;
let those who hate Him flee before him!
2
As smoke is driven away,
so drive them away;
as wax melts before fire,
let the wicked perish before God!
3
But let the righteous be joyful;
let them exult before God;
let them be jubilant with joy!
4
Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
lift up a song to Him who rides upon the
clouds;
His name is the Lord, exult before him!
5
Father of the fatherless and protector of widows
is God in His holy habitation.
6
God gives the desolate a home to dwell in;
He leads out the prisoners to prosperity;
but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.
7 O
God, when thou didst go forth before thy people,
when thou didst march through the
wilderness,
8
the earth quaked, the heavens poured down rain,
at the presence of God;
you Sinai quaked at the presence of God,
the God of Israel.
9
Rain in abundance, O God, thou didst shed abroad;
thou didst restore thy heritage as it
languished;
10
thy flock found a dwelling in it;
in thy goodness, O God,
thou didst provide for the needy.
11
The Lord gives the command;
great is the host of those who bore the
tidings:
12
"The kings of the armies, they flee, they flee!"
The women at home divide the spoil,
13 though they stay among the sheepfolds
the wings of a dove covered with
silver,
its pinions with green gold.
14
When the Almighty scattered kings there,
snow fell on Zalmon.
15
O mighty mountain, mountain of Bashan;
O many-peaked mountain, mountain of
Bashan!
16
Why look you with envy, O many-peaked mountain,
at the mount which God desired for His
abode,
yea, where the Lord will dwell forever ?
17
With mighty chariotry, twice ten thousand,
thousands upon thousands,
the Lord came from Sinai into the holy
place.
18
Thou didst ascend the high mount,
leading captives in thy train,
and receiving gifts among men,
even among the rebellious,
that the Lord God may dwell there.
19
Blessed be the Lord,
who daily bears us up;
God is our salvation.
20
Our God is a God of salvation;
and to God, the Lord, belongs escape from
death.
21
But God will shatter the heads of His enemies,
the hairy crown of him who walks in his
guilty ways.
22
The Lord said,
"I will bring them back from Bashan,
I will bring them back from the depths of
the sea,
23 that you may bathe your feet in blood,
that the tongues of your dogs may have
their portion from the foe."
24 Thy solemn processions are seen, O God,
the processions of my God, my King,
into the sanctuary--
25
the singers in front, the minstrels last,
between them maidens playing timbrels:
26
"Bless God in the great congregation,
the Lord, O you who are of Israel's
fountain!"
27
There is Benjamin, the least of them,
in the lead,
the princes of Judah in their throng,
the princes of Zeb'ulun,
the princes of Naph'tali.
28
Summon thy might, O God;
show thy strength, O God,
thou who hast wrought for us.
29
Because of thy temple at Jerusalem
kings bear gifts to thee.
30
Rebuke the beasts that dwell among the reeds,
the herd of bulls with the calves of the
peoples.
Trample under foot those who lust after
tribute;
scatter the peoples who delight in war.
31
Let bronze be brought from Egypt;
let Ethiopia hasten to stretch out her
hands
to God.
32 Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth;
sing praises to the Lord,
33 to him who rides in the heavens,
the ancient heavens;
lo, He sends forth His voice, His mighty
voice.
34
Ascribe power to God,
whose majesty is over Israel,
and His power is in the skies.
35
Awesome is God in His sanctuary,
the God of Israel,
He
gives power and strength to His people.
Blessed be God!
Psalm 92
A
Psalm.
A
Song for the Sabbath.
1
It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to thy name,
O Most High;
2
to declare thy steadfast love in the morning,
and thy faithfulness by night,
3 to the music of the lute and the harp,
to the melody of the lyre.
4
For thou, O Lord, hast made me glad by thy work;
at the works of thy hands I sing for joy.
5
How great are thy works, O Lord!
Thy thoughts are very deep!
6
The dull man cannot know,
the stupid cannot understand this:
7 that, though the wicked sprout like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
they are doomed to destruction forever.
8
But thou, O Lord, art on high forever.
9
For, lo, thy enemies, O Lord,
for, lo, thy enemies shall perish;
all evildoers shall be scattered.
10
But thou hast exalted my horn
like that of the wild ox;
thou hast poured over me fresh oil.
11
My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies,
my ears have heard the doom of my evil
assailants.
12
The righteous flourish like the palm tree,
and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13
They are planted in the house of the Lord,
they flourish in the courts of our God.
14
They still bring forth fruit in old age,
they are ever full of sap and green,
15
to show that the Lord is upright;
He is my rock,
and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
Psalm 93
1
The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed, he is girded with
strength.
Yea, the world is established;
it shall never be moved;
2
thy throne is established from of old;
thou art from everlasting.
3
The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
the floods have lifted up their voice,
the floods lift up their roaring.
4
Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
the Lord on high is mighty!
5 Thy decrees are very sure;
holiness befits thy house,
O Lord, forever more.
Psalm 95
1 O
come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock
of our salvation!
2
Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to Him with
songs of praise!
3
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all Gods.
4
In His hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are His also.
5
The sea is His, for He made it;
for His hands formed the dry land.
6 O
come, let us worship and bow down,
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
7
For He is our God,
and we are the people of His pasture,
and the sheep of His hand.
O that today you would hearken to His voice!
8
Harden not your hearts, as at Mer'ibah,
as on the day at Massah
in the wilderness,
9
when your fathers tested me,
and put me to the proof,
though they had seen my work.
10
For forty years I loathed that generation
and said, "They are a people who
err in heart,
and they do not regard my ways."
11
Therefore I swore in my anger
that they should not enter my holy land.
(God only said that the adult generations
shall not enter the Promised Land.
But later, they reincarnated to live
and keep the Sabbath in Israel.)
Psalm
96
1 O
sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth!
2
Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
tell of His salvation from day to day.
3
Declare His glory among the nations,
His marvellous
works among all the
peoples!
4
For great is the Lord,
and greatly to be praised;
He is to be loved above all Gods.
5
For all the gods of the peoples are idols;
but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Honour and majesty are before Him;
strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
7
Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!
8
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name;
bring an offering, and come into His
courts!
9
Worship the Lord in holy array;
tremble before Him, all the earth!
10
Say among the nations, "The Lord reigns!
Yea, the world is established,
it shall never be moved;
He will judge the peoples with equity."
11
Let the heavens be glad,
and
let the earth rejoice;
let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
12
let the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all the trees of the wood sing for
joy
13
before the Lord, for He comes,
for He comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
and the peoples with His truth.
Psalm 98
A
Psalm.
1 O
sing to the Lord a new song,
for He has done marvellous
things!
His right hand and His holy arm
have gotten Him victory.
2
The Lord has made known His victory,
He has revealed His vindication in the sight
of the nations.
3
He has remembered His steadfast love and
faithfulness to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen
the victory of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the
earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing
praises!
5
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody!
6
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the
Lord!
7
Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
the world and those who dwell in it!
8
Let the floods clap their hands;
let the hills sing for joy together
9
before the Lord, for He comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
and the peoples with equity.
Psalm 103
A
Psalm of David.
1
Bless the Lord, O my soul;
and all that is within me,
bless His holy name!
2
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all His benefits,
3
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
4
who redeems your life from the Pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and
mercy,
5
who satisfies you with good as long as you live
so that your youth is renewed like the
eagle's.
6
The Lord works vindication
and justice for all who are oppressed.
7
He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the people of Israel.
8
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast
love.
9
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep His anger forever.
10
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor requite us according to our
iniquities.
11
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is His steadfast love toward
those
who love him;
12
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does He remove our transgressions
from us.
13
As a father pities his children,
so the Lord pities those who love Him.
14
For He knows our frame;
He remembers that the human body is flesh.
15
The earthly body is only a fresh
but the spirit is everlasting.
Oh Lord, you are the Preserver.
You are the Sustainer.
You are the Restorer.
And you are the Enabler.
You preserve the spirit of a man
from generation to generation
and from one lifetime to another.
You make him continue his development
from where he stopped, and nothing is ever
lost.
The appearance and personality remain the
same.
This ego is never lost, but is transformed better.
The memory is always clear and complete
though many seem to forget their past lives.
By several reincarnations,
you make a man attain perfection.
You are able to restore a man to his town,
to his village, to his street and to his
family compound.
How great and wonderful are the works of thy
hand.
Blessed be thy name, forever and ever.
17
The steadfast love of the Lord is from
everlasting to everlasting
upon those who love Him,
and His righteousness to children's
children,
18
to those who keep His covenant
and remember to do His commandments.
19
The Lord has established His throne in the heavens,
and His kingdom rules over all.
20
Bless the Lord, O you His angels,
you mighty ones who do His word,
hearkening to the voice of His word!
21
Bless the Lord, all His hosts,
His ministers that do His will!
22
Bless the Lord, all His works,
in all places of His dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
(Verses 14 to 16 was corrected,
according to the spiritual realities of life.)
Psalm 104
1
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, thou art very great!
Thou art clothed with honour
and majesty,
2
who coverest thyself with light as with a garment,
who hast stretched out the heavens like a
tent,
3
who hast laid the beams of thy chambers on the waters,
who makest the
clouds thy chariot,
who ridest on the
wings of the wind,
4
who makest the winds thy messengers,
fire and flame thy ministers.
5 Thou
didst set the earth on its foundations,
so that it should never be shaken.
6
Thou didst cover it with the deep as with a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.
7
At thy rebuke they fled;
at the sound of thy thunder they took to
flight.
8
The mountains rose, the valleys sank down
to the place which thou didst appoint for
them.
9
Thou didst set a bound which they should not pass,
so that they might not again cover the
earth.
10
Thou makest springs gush forth in the valleys;
they flow between the hills,
11
they give drink to every beast of the field;
the wild asses quench their thirst.
12
By them the birds of the air have their habitation;
they sing among the branches.
13
From thy lofty abode thou waterest the mountains;
the earth is satisfied with the fruit of
thy work.
14
Thou dost cause the grass to grow for the cattle,
and plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth food from the
earth,
15
and wine to gladden the heart of man,
oil to make his face shine,
and bread to strengthen man's heart.
16
The trees of the Lord are watered abundantly,
the cedars of Lebanon which He planted.
17
In them the birds build their nests;
the stork has her home in the fir trees.
18
The high mountains are for the wild goats;
the rocks are a refuge for the badgers.
19
Thou hast made the moon to mark the seasons;
the sun knows its time for setting.
20
Thou makest darkness, and it is night,
when all the beasts of the forest creep
forth.
21
The young lions roar for their prey,
seeking their food from God.
22
When the sun rises, they get them away
and lie down in their dens.
23
Man goes forth to his work
and to his labour
until the evening.
24
O Lord, how manifold are thy works!
In wisdom hast thou made them all;
the earth is full of thy creatures.
25
Yonder is the sea, great and wide,
which teems with things innumerable,
living things both small and great.
26
There go the ships,
and Leviathan which thou didst form to
sport in it.
27
These all look to thee,
to give them their food in due season.
28
When thou givest to them, they gather it up;
when thou openest
thy hand,
they are filled with good things.
29
When thou hidest thy face, they are dismayed;
when thou takest
away their breath,
they die and return to their dust.
30
When thou sendest forth thy Spirit,
they are created;
and thou renewest
the face of the ground.
31
Let the glory of the Lord endure forever,
Let the Lord rejoice in His works,
32
who looks on the earth and it trembles,
who touches the mountains and they
smoke!
33
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have
being.
34
Let my meditation be pleasing to Him,
for I rejoice in the Lord.
35
Let sinners be consumed from the earth,
and let the wicked be no more!
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 105
1 O
give thanks to the Lord,
call on his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples!
2
Sing to him, sing praises to Him,
tell of all His wonderful works!
3
Glory in His holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord
rejoice!
4
Seek the Lord and His strength,
seek His presence continually!
5
Remember the wonderful works that He has done,
His miracles, and the judgments He uttered,
6 O
offspring of Abraham His servant,
sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!
7
He is the Lord our God;
His judgments are in all the earth.
8
He is mindful of His covenant forever,
of the word that He commanded,
for a thousand generations,
9
the covenant which He made with Abraham,
His sworn promise to Isaac,
10
which He confirmed to Jacob as a statute,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11
saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan
as your portion for an inheritance."
12
When they were few in number,
of little account, and sojourners in
it,
13
wandering from nation to nation,
from one kingdom to another people,
14
He allowed no one to oppress them;
He
rebuked kings on their account,
15
saying, "Touch not my anointed ones,
do my prophets no harm!"
16
When He summoned a famine on the land,
and broke every staff of bread,
17
He had sent a man ahead of them,
Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
18
His feet were hurt with fetters,
his neck was put in a collar of iron;
19
until what He had said came to pass
the word of the Lord tested Him.
20
The king sent and released Him,
the ruler of the peoples set Him free;
21
he made Him lord of his house,
and ruler of all his possessions,
22
to instruct his princes at His pleasure,
and to teach his elders wisdom.
23
Then Israel came to Egypt;
Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24
And the Lord made His people very fruitful,
and made them stronger than their foes.
25
He turned their hearts to hate His people,
to deal craftily with His servants.
26
He sent Moses His servant,
and Aaron whom He had chosen.
27
They wrought His signs among them,
and miracles in the land of Ham.
28
He sent darkness, and made the land dark;
they rebelled against His words.
29
He turned their waters into blood,
and caused their fish to die.
30
Their land swarmed with frogs,
even in the chambers of their kings.
31
He spoke, and there came swarms of flies,
and gnats throughout their country.
32
He gave them hail for rain,
and lightning that flashed through
their land.
33
He smote their vines and fig trees,
and shattered the trees of their
country.
34
He spoke, and the locusts came,
and young locusts without number;
35
which devoured all the vegetation in their land,
and ate up the fruit of their ground.
36
He smote all the first-born in their land,
the first issue of all their strength.
37
Then He led forth Israel with silver and gold,
and there was none among His tribes who
stumbled.
38
Egypt was glad when they departed,
for dread of them had fallen upon it.
39
He spread a cloud for a covering,
and fire to give light by night.
40
They asked, and He brought quails,
and gave them bread from heaven in
abundance.
41
He opened the rock, and water gushed forth;
it flowed through the desert like a
river.
42
For He remembered His holy promise,
and Abraham His servant.
43
So he led forth His people with joy,
His chosen ones with singing.
44
And He gave them the lands of the nations;
and they took possession of the fruit
of the
peoples' toil,
45
to the end that they should keep His statutes,
and observe His laws.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 108
A
Song. A Psalm of David
1
My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast!
I will sing and make melody!
Awake, my soul!
2
Awake, O harp and lyre!
I will awake the dawn!
3 I
will give thanks to thee, O Lord, among the peoples,
I will sing praises to thee among the
nations.
4
For thy steadfast love is great above the heavens,
thy faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
5
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let thy glory be over all the earth!
6
That thy beloved may be delivered,
give help by thy right hand, and answer
me.
7
God has promised in his sanctuary:
"With exultation I will divide up Shechem,
and portion out the Vale of Succoth.
8
Gilead is mine; Manas'seh is mine;
E'phraim is my
helmet;
Judah my sceptre.
9
Moab is my washbasin;
upon Edom I cast my shoe;
over Philistia I shout in triumph."
10
Who will bring me to the fortified city?
Who will lead me to Edom?
11
Hast thou not rejected us, O God?
Thou dost not go forth, O God, with our armies.
12
O grant us help against the foe,
for vain is the help of man!
13
With God we shall do valiantly;
it is He who will tread down our foes.
Psalm 111
1
Praise the Lord.
I will give thanks to the Lord
with my whole heart,
in the company of the upright,
in the congregation.
2
Great are the works of the Lord,
studied by all who have pleasure in them.
3
Full of honour and majesty is His work,
and His righteousness endures forever.
4
He has caused his wonderful works to be
remembered;
the Lord is gracious and merciful.
5
He provides food for those who fear him;
he is ever mindful of his covenant.
6
He has shown His people the power of His works,
in giving them the heritage of the
nations.
7
The works of His hands are faithful and just;
all His precepts are trustworthy,
8
they are established forever and ever,
to be performed with faithfulness and
uprightness.
9
He sent redemption to His people;
he
has commanded His covenant forever.
Holy and terrible is His name!
10
The knowledge of the truth is the beginning of wisdom;
a good understanding have all those who
practice it.
His praise endures forever!
(Verse 10 was corrected, because fear is
man-made, and it is punishable inside the hell fire. Even the people, who often
say that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, neither fear God nor obey
Him, because people are everyday doing whatever they like, without remorse,
without restraint and without repentance. That is why majority f the souls of
the dead end up inside the hell fire.)
Psalm 113
1
Praise the Lord!
Praise Him, O servants of the Lord,
praise the name of the Lord!
2
Blessed be the name of the Lord
from this time forth and forever more!
3
From the rising of the sun to its setting
the name of the Lord is to be praised!
4
The Lord is high above all nations,
and His glory above the heavens!
5
Who is like the Lord our God,
who is seated on high,
6
who looks far down
upon the heavens and the earth?
7
He raises the poor from the dust,
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
8
to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of His people.
9
He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 114
1
When Israel went forth from Egypt,
the house of Jacob from a people of
strange language,
2
Judah became his sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.
3
The sea looked and fled,
Jordan turned back.
4
The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.
5
What ails you, O sea, that you flee?
O Jordan, that you turn back?
6 O
mountains, that you skip like rams?
O hills, like lambs?
7
Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8
who turns the rock into a pool of water,
the flint into a spring of water.
Psalm 117
1
Praise the Lord, all nations!
Extol Him, all peoples!
2
For great is His steadfast love toward us;
and the
faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 135
1
Praise the Lord.
Praise the name of the Lord,
give praise, O servants of the Lord,
2 you
that stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God!
3
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing to His name, for He is gracious!
4
For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself,
Israel as His own possession.
5
For I know that the Lord is great,
and that our Lord is above all gods.
6
Whatever the Lord does,
in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and all deeps,
is for the good of all.
7
He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end
of
the earth,
who makes lightnings
for the rain
and brings forth the wind from His
storehouses.
8
He it was who smote the first-born of Egypt,
both of man and of beast;
9
who in thy midst, O Egypt,
sent signs and wonders
against Pharaoh and all his servants;
10
who smote many nations
and slew mighty kings,
11 Sihon, king of the Amorites,
and Og, king of
Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan,
12
and gave their land as a heritage,
a heritage to His people Israel.
13
Thy name, O Lord, endures forever,
thy renown, O Lord, throughout all ages.
14
For the Lord will vindicate His people,
and have compassion on His servants.
15
The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of men's hands.
16
They have mouths, but they speak not,
they have eyes, but they see not,
17
they have ears, but they hear not,
nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18
Like them be those who make them!
yea, every one who trusts in them!
19
O house of Israel, bless the Lord!
O house of Aaron, bless the Lord!
20
O house of Levi, bless the Lord!
You that love the Lord, bless the Lord!
21
Blessed be the Lord from Zion,
He who dwells in Jerusalem!
Praise the Lord!
(Verse 6 was corrected, because God is
not selfish,
and whatever He does is for the good of all.)
Psalm 145
A
Song of Praise. Of David.
1 I
will extol thee, my God and King,
and bless thy name forever and ever.
2
Every day I will bless thee,
and praise thy name forever and ever.
3
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and His greatness is unsearchable.
4
One generation shall laud thy works to another,
and shall declare thy mighty acts.
5
On the glorious splendour of thy majesty,
and on thy wondrous works, I will
meditate.
6
Men shall proclaim the might of thy terrible acts,
and I will declare thy greatness.
7
They shall pour forth the fame of thy
abundant goodness,
and shall sing aloud of thy
righteousness.
8
The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast
love.
9
The Lord is good to all,
and His compassion is over all that He
has made.
10 All thy works shall give thanks to thee, O
Lord,
and all thy saints shall bless thee!
11
They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom,
and tell of thy power,
12
to make known to the sons of men thy mighty deeds,
and the glorious splendour
of thy kingdom.
13
Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and thy dominion endures
throughout all generations.
The Lord is faithful in all His words,
and gracious in all His deeds.
14
The Lord upholds all who are falling,
and raises up all who are bowed down.
15
The eyes of all look to thee,
and thou givest
them their food in due season.
16
Thou openest thy hand,
thou satisfiest
the desire of every living thing.
17
The Lord is just in all His ways,
and kind in all his doings.
18
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
to all who call upon Him in truth.
19
He fulfils the desire of all who love Him,
He also hears their cry, and saves them.
20
The Lord preserves all who love Him;
but all the wicked He will destroy.
21
My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,
and let all flesh bless His holy name for
ever and ever.
Psalm 146
1
Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
2 I
will praise the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God
while I have being.
3
Put not your trust in princes,
in a son of man, in whom there is no
help.
4
When his spirit departs, his flesh returns to his earth;
on that very day his plans perish.
5
Happy is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6
who made heaven and earth and the sea,
and all that is in them;
who keeps faith forever;
7
who executes justice for the oppressed;
who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets the prisoners free;
8
the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous.
9
The Lord watches over the sojourners,
He upholds the widow and the fatherless;
but the way of the wicked He brings to
ruin.
10 The Lord will reign forever,
thy God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 147
1
Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
for He is gracious,
and a song of praise is seemly.
2
The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
He gathers the outcasts of Israel.
3
He heals the broken-hearted,
and binds up their wounds.
4
He determines the number of the stars,
He gives to all of them their names.
5
Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
His understanding is beyond measure.
6
The Lord lifts up the downtrodden,
He casts the wicked to the ground.
7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
make melody to our God upon the lyre!
8 He
covers the heavens with clouds,
He prepares rain for the earth,
He makes grass grow upon the hills.
9
He gives to the beasts their food,
and to the young ravens which cry.
10
His delight is not in the strength of the horse,
nor His pleasure in the legs of a man;
11
but the Lord takes pleasure in those who love Him,
in those who hope in His steadfast love.
12
Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem!
Praise your God, O Zion!
13
For He strengthens the bars of your gates;
He blesses your sons within you.
14
He makes peace in your borders;
He fills you with the finest of the wheat.
15
He sends forth His command to the earth;
His word runs swiftly.
16
He gives snow like wool;
He scatters hoarfrost like ashes.
17
He casts forth His ice like morsels;
who can stand before His cold?
18
He sends forth His word, and melts them;
He makes His wind blow, and the waters
flow.
19
He declares His word to Jacob,
His statutes and ordinances to Israel.
20
He has not dealt thus with any other nation;
they do not know His ordinances.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 148
1
Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens,
praise Him in the heights!
2
Praise Him, all His angels,
praise Him, all His host!
3 Praise Him, sun and moon,
praise Him, all you shining stars!
4
Praise Him, you highest heavens,
and you waters above the heavens!
5
Let them praise the name of the Lord!
For He commanded and they were created.
6
And He established them forever and ever;
He fixed their bounds which cannot be
passed.
7
Praise the Lord from the earth,
you sea monsters and all deeps,
8
fire and hail, snow and frost,
stormy wind fulfilling His command!
9
Mountains and all hills,
fruit trees and all cedars!
10
Beasts and all cattle,
creeping things and flying birds!
11
Kings of the earth and all peoples,
princes and all rulers of the earth!
12
Young men and maidens together,
old men and children!
13
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above earth and heaven.
14
He has raised up a horn for His people,
praise for all His saints,
for the people of Israel who are near
to Him.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 149
1
Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song,
His praise in the assembly of the faithful!
2
Let Israel be glad in His Maker,
let the sons of Zion rejoice in their
King!
3
Let them praise His name with dancing,
making melody to Him with timbrel and lyre!
4
For the Lord takes pleasure in His people;
He adorns the humble with victory.
5
Let the faithful exult in glory;
let them sing for joy on their couches.
6
Let the high praises of God be in their throats
and two-edged swords in their hands,
7
to wreak vengeance on the nations
and chastisement on the peoples,
8
to bind their kings with chains
and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9 to
execute on them the judgment written!
This is glory for all His faithful ones.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 150
1
Praise the Lord!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
praise Him in his mighty firmament!
2
Praise Him for his mighty deeds;
praise Him according to his exceeding
greatness!
3
Praise Him with trumpet sound;
praise Him with lute and harp!
4
Praise Him with timbrel and dance;
praise Him with strings and pipe!
5
Praise Him with sounding cymbals;
praise Him with loud clashing cymbals!
6
Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
